Intergenerational Programming and St. Michael's Catholic School joined together for a Teddy Bear
Drive benefiting the non-profit group "Get on the Bus". Ninety-two Teddy Bears were donated and

About Get on the Bus:
Get on the Bus a non-profit project that brings children and their guardians/caregivers from throughout the
state of California to visit their mothers on Mother's Day in prison. An annual event, Get On The Bus
offers free transportation for the children and their caregivers to the prison, provides travel bags for the
children, comfort care bags for the caregivers, a photo of each child with his or her parent, and meals for
the day (breakfast, snacks on the bus, lunch at the prison, and dinner on the way home)— all at no cost
to the children's family. On the bus trip home, following a four-hour visit, each child receives a teddy bear
with a letter from their Mom and post-event counseling.
About Sunshine Care Homes:
Established in 1990, Sunshine Care is a community of assisted-living homes on a 32-acre Campus in
Poway, California. This unique alternative for assisted living specializes in Alzheimer's and Dementia care
while providing an environment with all the comforts and reminders of home. Sunshine care provides the
highest level of individualized care and attention that we would want for our own loved ones. Sunshine
Care is also on the cutting edge of activities and going green, from our intergenerational programming to
our organic farming. The campus has an on-site greenhouse and orchards where fruits, vegetables and
herbs are grown from seed and later integrated into the house menu plans. For more information, please
